On November 1, heavy rain fell in the eastern provinces of Quebec and Ontario, accompanied by strong winds reaching 110 km/h. There were massive breakdowns of power lines as a result of which 170 thousand residents lost their electricity supply. The next day, it became known about 3 fatalities, and the number of houses left without electricity increased to 488 thousand.

On September 28, 2019, Naples (Italy), an online conference "Game of PROFESSIONALS. SOCIETY. THE LAST CHANCE. CLIMATE" will be held on the platform of ALLATRA International Public Movement.  On May 11, 2019, a PRECEDENT of global scale took place - an international conference “SOCIETY. THE LAST CHANCE.” At this international meeting, held on the ALLATRA IPM platform, the participants voiced the most pressing problems of society today: global natural disasters and the threat of nuclear war. Humankind can and should stop all wars and conflicts, but it is not within our power to stop global natural disasters. 

Overview of this “Breaking News” episode: The catastrophic hurricane DORIAN of the highest fifth category hit the Bahamas. There are dead and missing people. The strong wind and rain destroyed and seriously damaged around 13 thousand residential buildings on the Abaco Islands.  According to professionals, a category 5 hurricane was predicted to move from the Bahamas to Florida. Instead, it practically froze over the island of Big Bahamas and stayed over it for about 24 hours, destroying and flooding most of its territory.

Tropical cyclone Idai became one of the largest cataclysms in the beginning of the year and brought catastrophic destruction and disasters to thousands of people. AllatRa TV reporters contacted an eyewitness from Mozambique, Ricardo, who shared his experience and the details of what was happening.

Climate change is growing increasingly.
